Did we mention our life-long love of plaid? Dare to go beyond a flannel shirt and get bold with this great print! If you’ve got a little Scottish or Irish in your blood, this is a must. We’re in the midst of mix-and-matching patterns and plaid is super easy to work with. As always, keep your colors in the same hue and then go to town!
Okay, Rock Your Flannel
If you’re dying to put that flannel to use, try using it as an accessory. Wrap one around your waist for that ultra-90’s grunge look. It’s a great way to add a pop of color to an otherwise dreary winter outfit.
Plaid + Bomber = Mushroom Cloud
Getting chilly outside? Grab a thin layer in plaid and let the ends hang out. This look is double sick with a bomber. Take it to the next level with combat boots or patches and you’ve got the look down! It’s possible to wear plaid and still keep a feminine feel. Be sure to wear a bright lip or eye.
Better Than a Trench Coat
Stay cozy and warm in your coat but keep the color! Plaid pairs well with bright solids so add a fun purse or boots! It’s such an easy way to make a statement when you’re dashing out in jeans and a tee. Our favorite color combo is red and green, but if that’s too Christmas-y for you, feel free to add in some blue or yellow.

Plaid Maxi Skirts
Now that we’ve all grown accustomed to wearing maxi skirts, it’s time to change things up for winter. Find one in a big bold plaid and pair with a smaller print. Not only do you stay warm, you keep your femininity and pack a punch all at the same time. Bam! Bap! Pow!
Plaid Fever
Wow, putting this together has given me the eyeball equivalent of seeing spots! I’m going to go cozy up in my plaid duvet now and stare up at the strobing plaid ceiling. I really am flashing back to the 90’s! If you put together a great plaid outfit, please share by clicking the quick link below. We’d love to post it semi-anonymously. xox
