Color is still making a big impact in fashion for Spring.  We’ve been drooling over print ads and street styles oozing in saturated pallets.  Now is the perfect time to add a dash (or a gallon!) of purple into your wardrobe.  Symbolic of luxury and nobility, the hue adds instant drama or a pop of flair.  Right where you need it most.

Deep Monochrome

For the bravest of the brave, go full on head-to-toe purple. It’s not that scary if you keep the hue as close to blue as possible. We especially love full-body purple in bold, off the shoulder styles. The luxurious color of choice makes you look long and lean. Perfect for paparazzi royalty of any kind.

Purple is Best on Boots

Please, oh please refer to our article on the new ankle boot updates for Spring. Purple Beatle boots take it to the next level, especially with fun rock n’ roll details. Extravagant footwear looks best paired with cropped jeans or suede flares.

Complementary Colors

Another idea to keep the creativity going with your look is to use complementary colors. Purple matches best with blues or yellows and you can create a color blocking effect easy this way. Find a top with bold complementary stripes, or mix-and-match your boots and bag and coat and whatever you want. If you stick to these three colors, it will work! Just be sure to keep your darker shades dominant.

Go for Ruffles, or Go Home

Off the shoulder styles in big bold ruffles also work amazingly in the color symbolic of independence. Update your Spring wardrobe with a playful summer dress in purple. You won’t need much jewelry and can keep your footwear mellow if you go this route. Big ruffles give even more grandeur to the regal shade of choice.

Office #BOSS

Feeling more corporate and less flashy? Water down your purple choice by pairing with shades of grey. Also symbolic of wisdom and dignity, it’s a perfect pairing for work wear. Accent with browns to mellow it our even more and try not to act surprised when you still aren’t a wallflower. They won’t even see you coming.

Romantic Velvet

You didn’t think we’d dare leave velvet out of the mix do you? Velvet and purple go together like Romeo + Juliet. Every girl should have a touch of velvet in her magical closet of wonders. Think long skinny scarves, soft jackets, hot pants, and more! Purple is also the color of mysticism and we all have a little spiritual power we can harness inside. Channel it to do something amazing!
