Ankle Boots Get an Update for Spring

Kick off those “Boho mom” booties and slip into something sexier this Spring! Ankle boots just went a little more punk rock and I’m foaming at the mouth! Personal experience has taught me that one pair of these cropped beauties is never enough. Ever versatile, you can easily sport them with florals or skinny jeans into next fall and winter, too.

The Cone Heel

Looking for something feminine that still makes a statement? Cone heel ankle boots have made a comeback from the 80’s and are a fresh update for Spring. The heel is dainty but sturdy and will take you blocks and blocks. Don’t you just love oxymorons when they alleviate suffering for fashion?

A Little Bit Country

If you’re stubborn about sporting a block heel, never fear. Take a look at some of the latest Western styles that are stomping around town. Perfection! The studs and stitching never grow old and that Memphis rock-a-billy style is especially relevant in February. (Swoon!) Check out this amazing collage by Oracle Fox – focus on the Celine beauties at the bottom. Obsessed. Check out her blog for 101 ways to wear these versatile gems.

A Little Bit Rock n’ Roll

Are you the type of girl who’s love can’t be bought? Try a Beatle boot with a kitten heel instead. Mew*.  We’re still mixing and matching colors and kitten heels work especially well in stripes or color blocked.  London Fashion is 100% mojo, baby. Here is a sweet pair by Teatum Jones at London Spring 2017. Amaze-balls. I would feel like Wonder Woman in these babies.

Ankle Boots in White

Another trend I’ve been eyeing follows the go-go style. Fitted ankle boots in white are fresh for Spring and pull that 60’s style in perfectly. White boots look especially good with a cropped pant or help update skinny jeans. I’ve seen these with a white tee under a slip dress as well. Check out our article on rocking slip dresses if you want some more inspiration there.

Desperately Seeking Susan

Need some true blue 80’s inspiration? Be sure to tune into Desperately Seeking Susan on Netflix. The best scene is when Madonna trades in her jacket for a sick pair of kitten heel sparklies. I just love her character’s style in this movie, not to mention her mode of operation. Priorities!

Pirate Treasure

Professor, what’s another word for pirate treasure?  Here’s what I’m putting in my cart this season: 3 little goodies that will update my wardrobe and that I will keep forever. First, I’m still in the Galentine’s Day mood. The red Bettie Paige beauties from Unique Vintage stole my heart! Second, I’ve been a big fan of LA local pskaufman for awhile. Their Western booties are hands down the best quality and motorcycle-ready styles around. Finally, to round out the collection, I’ve added a pair of Jeffery Campbell booties. All-white and with a kitten heel, that’s a 2-for. Thanks Free People, for being awesome.
