Sandals, Slides + Espadrilles: Slip into Summer

Pedis out! If you’re not opting to go barefoot this Summer, give one of our favorite sandals, slides, or espadrilles a run for their money. Bright colors, block heels, and wide straps are keeping feet comfortable and pretty.  This summer girls are leaning towards a lower profile, choosing flats over wedges.  Take a look at our favorite finds and add a pair to your vacation bag.

Sandals or Mules?

First things first.  Head over to our article on monochromatic minimal outfits that require this type of footwear.  Summer is asking for loose, flowing clothes and walk-able sandals or slides.  For work especially, we love trendy mules that add a little bit of menswear to a look.  Freda Salvador carries an excellent selection of mules; our favorites are the black calf Lay Mules currently on sale.  They have a one-inch stacked heel and are handmade in Spain, so the quality is there for a fraction of the cost.  Mules are better for most workplaces that require a closed toe.  Pair with a fun straw bag and low-key accessories to keep the styling light and fresh!

Keep it Neutral

For informal parties and casual dates, open toes are always terrific.  Huraches or anything with a wide weave is most comfortable.  Pair an all white outfit with sandals in neutral tones and then brighten up your accessories!  Madewell carries a very cute Donovan Sandal with crisscross straps and handmade detailing. Easy Espadrilles

If you’re heading out for window shopping, or are packing for travel – a cute, walking shoe is a must.  Espadrilles are better than most sandals because they provide comfort and breathability.  Mule espadrilles or simple smoking slippers are super packable and look perfect with cropped wide leg pants.  Remember to tie a scarf or bandana to your bag or add one to a ponytail.  It will pretty up your look instantly without just 2 seconds of effort.

Dressing Up Denim

Tassels + Fringe
