The combination of Easter coming around the corner and being quarantined has us thinking about color in big ways. Why stop at Easter eggs, when tie dye is so fun to make and and wear? This season’s street style stars have us thinking about Bohemian in a whole new way. Groovy, baby!

Tie Dye Goes Grunge

As you know, grunge is taking off in a whole new way. Throw on an oversized tie dye top and pair with chunky boots. Think about print mixing as you get creative with mix-and-match fashion. Keep the look casual and cool with dropped shoulder seams and any kind of bag you like.

Over The Rainbow

Most people are used to seeing the Grateful Dead-inspired spiral designs. Think outside of the box with your next tie dye purchase. We love Free People’s rainbow wash tee and it comes in three very cool color choices. The slouchy silhouette lends itself to the colorful pattern that is a new play on stripes.

Not-So-Psychedelic

You can pull the look off without looking like a total hippie. Head-to-toe tie dye totally works with expert dye patterns. Look for ombre-like prints that transition to white or solid colors. Pair with your favorite penny loafers and oversized clutch for maximum style points. You can easily dress up loungewear with the right accessories for your weekly excursion out into GP.

Go With White

Another way to make an outfit pop is to use one color or dye. Keeping dye colors simple and leaving plenty of whitespace is just good design practice. This is also an easy style to aim for if you’re interested in doing the dying yourself. Try this Itajime shibori DIY, which involves folding the fabric into an accordion pleat. Gorgeous! And something to keep you busy.

Ready For Warm Weather

Additionally, if you’re shopping for staples that you can mix and match, we’ve got you covered. Add a cropped tee and a pair of overalls to your cart this month. You will be surprised at how much you wear them both! Overalls are the most comfortable way to get dressed because they usually are a little roomy. We like the cotton crop tee and overalls from Riverside. (They are hand-dyed and pre-shrunk but we still recommend washing separately and on cold.)

If you see something you love, don’t let it pass you by.

Find a dye style that especially speaks to you and consider making something of your own. It’s pretty hard to make a mistake when it comes to dying so proceed with confidence. We can’t wait to see what you create.
