We’re moving past riotous Spring Break vacations and are opting for mellow weekend getaways that don’t require a week-long come-down after the fact. We looked up the 6 most popular vacation spots in the U.S. this month and planned easy outfits for each destination. Take a look at our breezy fashion finds and get inspired to get out of town and into some sunshine. It might just be the pick-me-up you need to move on with your life!
Easy Outfits With Aloha
For our travel inspiration source, we went to Travel + Leisure’s article, “The Best Places to Travel in the United States in March 2018“. Doesn’t get much more straight-forward than that! They considered “popular (and seriously underrated) annual events, noteworthy hotel and restaurant openings, and sought out exceptional weather” for their list. Waikiki, Hawaii is our favorite dream getaway and your easy outfits should work with your swimsuit! For day trips around farmer’s markets, these Free People Aloha Printed Wide Leg Pants are super comfy with semi-sheer fabric. Perfect over a swimsuit or with a cami top! Try print mixing and give your hair a total break. You deserve it.
Desert Princess
Remember how Scottsdale, Arizona is one of our favorite Spring Break getaways? Book yourself into a spa and pack easy outfits that can go from lounging at the hotel to exploring the nightlife. We are loving bandeau tops with wide leg trousers this season. (Take a look at our tie front tops article for more inspiration.) These Parker Pants make transitioning from window shopping to happy hour a snap! Also, make sure you also check out last month’s article on polka dots before you shop! Polka dots are this season’s trendiest print, so we’d hate for you to miss out.
Bring Home the Bacon
Did someone say bacon? Hit up Fargo’s annual Bacon and Beer festival this month and let local chefs compete for your attention! North Dakota is super casual and still a little cool, so easy outfits should def. incorporate a lightweight jacket. We are totally psyched about deconstructed denim jackets that would be perfect for the casual atmosphere in ND. Pair your denim look with a super trendy rattan clutch and bright flats to remind locals you’re from out of town.
A Wonder of This Western World
Recently upgraded with LED lighting, Niagra Falls has been the hottest tourist attraction of the season. Stay true to New York fashion with easy outfits that scream with personal style. As you know, we love anything in plaid and graphic tees are like their soul mates. Try hot accessories, like on-trend tiny sunglasses or a Sun Jellies Retro Basket in the color of your choice. This area of New York is rich in history, so plan outfits around never being at the hotel!
Houston, Not a Problem
If you haven’t been to Texas, read our last travel article on Dallas and then add a lot more country. The Houston Rodeo is happening this month, so a hot pair of Wrangler jeans are a must. A great pair of jeans and feminine details make easy outfits for Texas a snap. We like this Evangeliné Top (in polka dots, of course) with its sweet tie sleeves. Also, take a gander at our article on silk scarves for some easy ideas on how to incorporate this versatile accessory into your vacation wardrobe. We really like Travel + Leisure’s idea to stay at the Inn Dos Brisas; because a girl can only take so much rodeo.
Watch From the Balcony
Whale watching aside, the markets and wine-tasting forums in Santa Barbara are wonderful in the Spring. Easy outfits in Southern California should include wrap dresses and a big dose of girl power prints. Splurge on a Tilden Tulip Wrap Dress or save on a Monette Georgette semi-sheer dress by Ganni for the right fit and fabric. (Also, feel free to browse last Spring’s inspo feed for more ruffles in your life.) We also like coin necklaces like these with a wrap dress. Super simple, but feminine to the hilt. Wander and watch to your heart’s content this month.
Travel Light
Wherever you decide to go this month, make things easy on yourself and pack light! Easy outfits in lightweight fabrics should be packed in a carry-on and no more! Save yourself the hassle of checking bags and pick a few outfits that can go on repeat. No one knows you, so this is the time to wear something amazing over again. Keep the details unique and carefree so you can focus on enjoying the trip. Take a real break and have fun exploring this month!
Great finds! Do you know where I can find that Love t-shirt in the photo of the girl with the plaid pants? I have similar pants and would like that shirt if I can find it.
Thanks hon! It’s Urban Outfitters. Glad you like 😉
